Exterior: Occupying the original colonial General Post Office,
the hotel has been built in and restored into one of Singapore's
landmark hotels. With its distinguished Doric columns and statuesque
architecture, the hotel represents the height of Palladian architecture.
Lobby:
Decorated in soothing shades of champagne and wood, the lobby
accentuates the stately colonial facade.The hotel is a masterpiece of
simplicity, comfort and elegance. Japanese bamboo trees soften the look.
Rooms:
Extreme luxury is present in every detail and the stylish and chic
accommodation offers guests a fresh and contemporary decor that exudes
a sense of warmth and comfort. The Courtyard room is about 42 square
meters with pastel yellow wall and a full length window with views of
the sunlit atrium lobby. The double room has a king size bed while the
twin has 2 single beds. The oval sharp writing table and the
comfortable arm chair fit nicely into the room. A small box within the
full length wardrobe allows guest to leave their shoes there for the
staff to pick up from outside the room for shoe shine service. Rooms
are equipped with slippers, bathrobes, coffee/tea making facilities, 2
bottles of drinking water and a laptop size safe with a power point
that allow charging of laptop at the same time. The bathroom is
spacious with black granite vanity top and yellow tone flooring. It has
a full size bath tub, a separate standing shower and a sliding door
separating the toilet and the bath area.
Dining: Town
Restaurant is a vibrant, smart-casual restaurant serving international
flavours. Guest could enjoy English Afternoon tea, Indian Curry buffet
for lunch on weekday and Chocolate Buffet in the evening over the
weekend at The Courtyard. Modern Chinese specialities are served at
Jade. Sitting at the apex is San Marco at The Lighthouse, the Italian
fine-dining restaurant.
